NineDots is the wedding photography learning community and exists to help you take your craft and business to the next level. It all started with our uniquely collaborative wedding photography workshops, then we created the unrivalled NineDots Gathering.
The amazing, supportive community of wedding photographers that was born out of those events led to the launch of NineDots Membership in 2018, and we are super excited to be at the helm of this fantastic, welcoming and progressive group of wedding photographers and business owners from all over the world.
The photographers behind NineDots are Adam Johnson, Rahul Khona and Andy Gaines – Three leading wedding photographers from the UK. We are supremely passionate about making awesome creative wedding photography no matter the environment or circumstances. In a relatively short time we’ve all developed successful wedding photography businesses which attract couples who value and buy into the way we do things. We’ve also collectively won some of the most prestigious awards in the wedding photography industry for our images and service levels.
Andy is a rockstar-turned-photographer who strives to bring the awesome to every wedding.
A proud northern boy, based in the historic city of York, Andy has shot weddings around the globe, always coming home to his gorgeous kids and wife. Now a multi award winning photographer, he was named as one of the Top 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography in the world by the influential Rangefinder Magazine, has received numerous prestigious international awards and was 2015 Wedding Photographer of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards.
Andy has an insatiable appetite for the creative side of life and brings all his life experiences into his wedding photography, creating vibrant slices of life in his work with a raw honesty that few can achieve.
Never stop working, there is always something happening, you just have to look for it and be ready!
A former graphic designer, Rahul’s love for the visual arts shines brightly in his wedding photography. Within the short time in his career, Rahul has travelled worldwide shooting weddings in India, Italy, France, Spain, Cyprus, Mexico and the USA as well as all over the UK and in his home city of London. He’s a multiple award winner and is proud to have judged major wedding photography awards too.
Rahul, loves to document and create a wedding story unique to each of his couples. His unobtrusive photo-journalistic approach to weddings enables him to capture those precious fleeting moments that disappear in the blink of an eye. As well as storytelling, Rahul enjoys making stunning portraits of his couples, portraits that look and feel natural, but also creating images with a glamorous editorial fashion feel.
An extremely passionate photographer, he is always trying to push his boundaries, trying to further his craft, to deliver the best possible images for his clients, while being a doting husband and adoring father to his baby daughter.
When posing your couples, don’t forget about their hands!
Adam’s work has been recognised by all the major award bodies around the world, most recently being named the Wedding Photographer of the Year for the second time at The Wedding Industry Awards. He’s photographed more than 400 weddings in the UK and all over the planet.
At our workshops Adam tells how being called a ‘safe’ photographer early in his career spurred him on to be the photographer he is today working at weddings worldwide and continuing to amass virtual trophies and awards for the imagery he creates for his clients.
Adam also believes in the importance of not comparing yourself to other photographers or trying too hard to emulate your ‘heroes’ – your best art will always come from your own soul!
