Welcome to the NineDots Gathering 2021 – the sixth annual NineDots Gathering! The last two years have been tricky for all of us and we can’t wait to welcome you (finally!) back to Bounce in London.

This page will tell you all you need to know to make the most of your ticket and how the event itself is going to work! We’re excited to welcome you!


 

We founded NineDots in November 2014 and 7(!) years and one global pandemic later we are back and looking forward to giving you all a large, NineDots, dose of education, inspiration and a DAMN GOOD TIME! Lord knows it feels like we all deserve it!

Everything you need to know about the event this year is below, and it’s important that if you haven’t yet filled it in, please complete this RSVP form ASAP:


REGISTRATION DRINKS

EVENING OF 14TH NOV FROM 7PM
Sama Bankside
3 Robinson Road (Cobbled Slope On junction of Southwark Street and, Blackfriars Rd), London SE1 8BU

We will be holding a registration drinks event at Sama on the Sunday night to get your wristband which you’ll need for entry into Bounce. We encourage you to come to this to register and get your entrance wristband so we can save as much time as possible doing this at Bounce on the Monday morning. We want to get cracking on the talks on time on Monday. Plus it’s an excuse to come, have a drink and meet people! If you don’t know many/any people attending, then it’s the perfect place to meet Team NineDots who will be on hand all week to look after you! If you can’t make it, then no worries – you can register on Monday morning at Bounce from 8:15 – 9am. We have the list of all ticket holders, so you don’t need anything to register – just remember your name – Easy!

THE GATHERING VENUE

DOORS OPEN 8:15AM EACH DAY
Bounce (Farringdon – NOT SHOREDITCH!) 121 Holborn EC1N 2TD (near Chancery Lane Tube)

There is a Bounce in Shoreditch so please don’t get confused and go to the wrong one – every year someone does – don’t be that person this year!

The Bounce we will be at is on Holborn, just by Hatton Gardens. The entrance is slightly hidden but is next to Boots Pharmacy.

The nearest tube is Chancery Lane – take exit 2 to the street. Farringdon station is also only a 4 minute walk.

FOOD + DRINK

BREAKFAST AND LUNCH INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET
Free tea and coffee in the breaks

Breakfast and lunch is included all three days. Doors open at 8:15am each day which is an hour before the presentations begin. A light continental style breakfast will be available – If you can’t survive a day without a full English fry up, then you will need arrange that yourself elsewhere before you arrive. The food will be buffet style and there should be something to please most people’s tastes. With it being buffet style though, please don’t take more than your fair share in one go. You can always go back for more later and as this isn’t a wedding, the band will not eat all the food before you get chance to sit down!

Let us know any dietary requirements in the RSVP form – these will be passed on to the venue in advance, but please be aware that due to covid issues the venue’s food is more limited than normal and so this may be reflected in the choices. There are also adequate supermarkets and eateries within seconds from Bounce if you wish to get food elsewhere.

After the talks end on day one you’ll have the option to order food from the bar before and during the ping pong tournament party and the food will be brought into our private party room.  After the day 2 Q&A  you’ll also have the option to hang out at Bounce and order food in the same way too if you.

The Main Stage Presentations

The venue at Bounce is split into two main areas – the main ping pong hall where we will be setting up the main stage and a separate room for the mini-masterclasses. The main stage talks are mandatory, but the mini-masterclasses take place during the breaks and lunches and you can choose to socialise and play ping pong or go along to a mini-masterclass.

You won’t *need* any thing during the 3 days, like cameras or equipment – but if you want to bring your camera then you are of course more than welcome. Some people bring things to make notes with also.


The Mini-Masterclass Zone

30 mins long
take place during breaks and lunches in a separate room

The mini-masterclasses take place during the breaks and lunches and you can choose to socialise and play ping pong or go along to a mini-masterclass. For the live shoots you’ll be in either group A or B (signified by the colour of your wristband). Don’t worry – you’ll be able to see EVERYTHING if you choose to.

We deliberately timed the NineDots gathering for the time of year we know everyone is feeling the effects of a busy season.

The main events are of course the presentations by our world class speakers, but we wanted the NineDots gathering to have a real balance between learning and fun. There will be a ping pong tournament party at Bounce after the first day’s presentations finish at 4pm followed by karaoke fun!

At the end of the second day we will host an informal Q+A session with our speakers in Bounce before finishing at 7pm. You’ll have the option to stick around and chat/drink/eat at Bounce or head out for food.

After the gathering closes on day 3 we invite you to join us at NottingHill Arts Club for an after party of epic proportions which will go on until 3am (info below).


The Ping Pong Party

6pm Mon 15th Nov at Bounce
Random doubles

After we move through to the party room at the end of day one there will be a free drink for everyone followed by the ping pong tournament from 6pm. You’ll be randomly assigned a doubles partner to keep it fair!

We will stay in this room until midnight having fun and maybe singing some karaoke. You’ll also be able to order food from the bar.


The Speaker Q&A Session

6pm Tuesday 16th Nov at Bounce

At the close of the presentations on day 2 we are moving through to the Jacques room for an informal Q&A session with our speakers and attendees. This will be your chance to ask them any questions and take part in whatever discussions come up. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from the bar and when the Q&A winds down you are welcome to stay for more socialising if you want!

The photos from our after parties speak for themselves. Just be there. Exclusive to Gathering ticket holders so unfortunately we can’t accept requests for you to bring friends. Oh, and we’ve got the legendary Martin2Smoove on the decks. If you know, you know.

We take our responsibilities as conference organisers extremely seriously. We want everyone to have a fun, happy, welcoming, safe, enjoyable time while at the NineDots Gathering and by picking up your wristband and walking through our doors you accept all the terms of our harassment and bullying policy and commit to treat everyone with respect.

Covid

Hopefully by now you’re all familiar with the C word. As per current guidelines for events of this size and nature, we ask that all attendees take a voluntary Lateral Flow Test less than 48 hrs in the run up to the event and also on day 2 of the Gathering if possible.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we are a supportive and inclusive community. If anyone chooses to wear a mask or wants to try socially distance as much as possible then they should feel empowered to do so and their choices respected.
