NineDots Gathering 2022 presents Sam Hurd!
Starting as a political news and celebrity portrait photographer in DC, Sam was eventually drawn to wedding photography as a space to promote more inventive ideas. Sam’s focus is on photographic techniques that are deceptively simple, but have potential to transform difficult or uninspiring shooting environments into one of a kind opportunities for every photo made.

We’ll have a brief lecture that will set the stage for an improvised shoot with a real couple. Along with a breakdown of how I interact and pose my couples, I’ll incorporate prisms, double exposures, and everyday items to create unique images.
