For the past two years we’ve invited NineDots Gathering ticket holders to submit three images each into the Gathering Print Competition… The four of us (Mick, Andy, Rahul and Adam) review the entries and pick our 20 favourites (a debate which lasts hours, we don’t call ourselves the Overthinkers for nothing!) and our friends at Loxley Colour print and mount the 20 finalists which go up on display at Bounce for the Gathering.
The final judging is always done by a selection of our Gathering presenters and this year the winners were chosen by Fer Juaristi, Aga Tomaszek and Dominique Shaw. It was a heated debate but they finally agreed on the top three and here are the winners in all their glory!
2017 Gathering Print Competition 1st Place WINNER – Arvid de Windt, Arv & Mayk, The Netherlands
The judges said they loved the depth and artistry on display here and how each time you look at the photo you see a little bit more. They loved how it wasn’t a loud, in your face documentary photo but something altogether quieter and more intriguing. Huge congratulations to Arvid for being the 2017 Gathering Print Competition winner!!! Arvid wins his choice of album, downscales and wall product from our partner Loxley Colour, worth £1000!
2017 Gathering Print Competition 2nd Place – Emmie Scott, Emmie Scott Photography, London UK
Fer Juaristi said he wished this was his photo, and the judges on the whole loved the sense of surrealism here and how the photo asks more questions than it answers! A huge well done to Emmie for being this year’s runner up!! Emmie wins her choice of presentation product and wall product from our partner Loxley Colour, worth £500!
2017 Gathering Print Competition 3rd Place – Yves Schepers, Belgium
The judges applauded the level of creativity in this silhouette with a difference by the brilliant Yves Schepers from Belgium. Yves wins his choice of framed print from our partner Loxley Colour, worth £250!
The other 17 finalists in the 2017 NineDots Gathering print competition are shown below. They all took home a mounted 12×8″ print of their photo from Loxley Colour. Thanks for all the entries, and congratulations again to all the finalists and winners!
